Phone Scam: Important for you to call Ken Hughes at 888-249-4134

[Barnes, Sarah]Sarah Barnes - 11:42am Oct 24, 2005 EST

This is a phone scam, that I received just today (Oct. 24, 2005). I wanted to post this because it would be easy for seniors to be caught by this one.

I picked up the phone and heard a recorded message saying: "You are about to recieve an important message." (Then it repeated that in Spanish). The a woman's recorded voice came on saying that it was important for me to call Ken Hughes at 888-249-4134 and that it was not a sales or solicitation call. Then it ended.

I was pretty annoyed by this and was sure it was fishy. My husband did a Google search for "Ken Hughes" and found a report on http://www.Rip-offReport.com that said it was indeed a scam.

Here is a link to the report we found. http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/ripoff130567.htm

Incidentally, this website (http://www.Rip-offReport.com) seems like a good place to look up scams too.

If you get a phone call like this ignore it and tell your friends to beware.
