In doing family research, with the help of several cousins!, I have had the opportunity to obtain copies of old photos, many taken in the late 1800's of several of my ancestors. Seeing these people in these photos has meant the world to me. It makes them more real to me, instead of just names and a couple of dates on grave markers.
Remembering our past is important to our future. I feel very sad every time I hear of an old Hollywood star who has passed away. Katherine Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn, etc. The loss of these people signals an end to an era, a way of life and a perspective of life that we just don't see anymore.
